Hello,

My name is Nic Norman Tugaff and I'm an aspiring Filipino classical singer. I've been singing since I was a child and have been fortunate to have performed at numerous concerts in Manila and in the Philippine provinces.

I have a tough situation which I believe you can help! Please help us to be reunited as one family in New Zealand.

I am married to a beautiful, talented and humble woman named Aliesha. She is a New Zealander and we met in Philippines last 2013.

It was a perfect day when I processed my papers to apply my NZ visa but suddenly, things weren’t they were supposed to. That day, the result of the test was out, unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a Chronic Kidney Disease both of my kidneys are shrinking! I wondered what had happened, I never smoke or drink even a drop of beer in my life. The only thing I like is to eat. I tried to ask the opinions of other doctors and went through 3 tests but the results were the same.

My world suddenly shattered, it was hard to accept the fact that I have the most dangerous illness in the world, the worst, both of my kidneys are infected. I was so depressed and my wife as well, she wanted to gave up her beautiful life in New Zealand to stay with me as she wanted to take care of me. I felt pity to my wife and to our situation that we had. We have beautiful plans for our family but because of what I was suffering, our world turned upside down.

I was so down and out, thankfully, my family and my wife were there to help me all the way. Music was also a very big help in my down time. I am a classical singer and a violinist- it was a good way to divert my attention to a better perspective. I eventually accepted my situation and I believe that God has a wonderful plan for us. My wife left her country to stay with me for a while since I am recovering emotionally and physically. The Lord indeed had a purpose because He blessed us with a healthy baby boy. My son gave me another reason not to give up, however, since my wife got pregnant, we decided to let the child be born in New Zealand for security and safety of my family.

After a few lonely months away from them, I decided to go to New Zealand with the help of my family. My wife was about give birth to our boy. I never thought the day I arrived was the day my son was born! I was so happy and I felt extremely blessed because finally I am a dad, plus, our situation was getting better and better.

I stayed in New Zealand for 9 months. It was full of joy, happy memories and a lot of fun but reality bites it was time to go home! I was not granted to stay or extend my visa because I was not very well, my kidneys are not that fully recovered. The hardest part was not seeing your family celebrating Christmas, enjoying your wedding anniversary and not seeing my son Gabriel blowing his first birthday cake. That was very too painful for me!

I am musician, a classical singer and a violinist. I am doing my best to save up for my ticket but in my country the talent fee here as musician is just good for daily basis and for my medication. I want to go back to New Zealand because I really miss my beautiful wife Aliesha and my son Gabriel. I want to spend my lifetime together with them, I want to go there while I still have the strength to travel despite of my condition and to do my best to provide them with their needs if I get there. I love my family with all my heart! I hope you can help me reunite with my family. Your help is essential to our life and I will see it as a big favour to our family.

My initial objective is to get enough money for the airfare from the Philippines to New Zealand to join my family so all donations, however small, will make a huge difference to my situation.
