A few years ago, my wife and I started a dream - to start a sustainable mini-farm that can have an impact on our local community.
My wife and I both grew up in the big cities here in our country, and we met at our workplace. We are blessed with 4 beautiful daughters. We dreamed of a place away from the big cities, where we could be helpful to our community. With our savings and help from my sister, we started a small farm.It was about a year ago, and everything looked promising. Hoping to boost our farm, we invested almost all of our savings but ended up being scammed instead. It was a great failure on my end, and I have not been the same since. It was only a few months ago that I accepted that I am going thru depression. Nevertheless, by the Grace of God and the help of family, we were able to survive and continue on the work. In spite of what happened, doors opened and we were excited for the future. With the help of a friend, we were looking forward to expand and improve our operations. When things started looking bright again, COVID-19 happened.
Here in our country, the pandemic hit small business owners like us the worst. The rich are capable with their surplus money, the poor were provided for by our government, but micro-business owners like us were left out, struggling, doing everything we can to survive and keep whatever we have left afloat. At the height of the government lock downs (which started early March 2020), we were not able to source the needed ingredients for our oyster mushroom production and with more logistical problems, it only got worse. Some of our enhancement plans were cancelled and the money was used to meet our daily needs instead. We lost our car, and our lot mortgage is in dangerous territory.
Today, 5 months into this pandemic, things are still about to get worse - with more cases being reported in our place. This only means more struggles for us in the coming days. But we have to survive and make things work somehow. We just can't let COVID-19 destroy our dream and what we've built so far - so I came to this platform, looking for assistance, from kindhearted good people like you, to help our mini-farm survive, and more importantly, to help put food on the table for our family.
We appreciate any assistance you can spare us and we will be eternally grateful to anyone who helps us in our current situation.
