I created this page on behalf of my friend, Katrina Luz, whose first born is suffering from Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS)*.

On November 27 at 9cm, it was examined that baby Kaitlyn had already passed her stool (meconium or the baby's first feces) while inside the womb. They had to rush my friend at the delivery room and gave birth at 4:11 pm. Unfortunately, Kat was not able to hear her baby cry nor feel her. She was put to sleep during delivery due to stress not knowing that her baby was rushed to the NICU.

Kaitlyn breathed in and swallowed a lot of meconium. Her xray showed that her lungs is blocked and covered with the said matter.

Three weeks has already passed and baby Kaitlyn is still in the NICU, dependent on the oxygen from her incubator and is taking antibiotics. As of today, her hospital bill has already reached Php 430,000++ and without a definite date yet as to when she will be discharged.

In this season of giving, I am asking for your kind generosity in helping fund the hospital expenses of baby Kaitlyn. She's been on this fight for almost a month now and her family is also struggling financially to keep up with the hospital bill. Any amount is of great help to them especially to Baby Kaitlyn. No amount is too small to make a difference.

For donations, you may use PayPal or directly deposit to their BDO account, 005330090513 (Kevin Lhoyd Lincuna)

Thank you.

*Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS) Meconium is the first feces, or stool, of the newborn. It occurs when a newborn breathes a mixture of meconium and amniotic fluid into the lungs around the time of delivery. It is a leading cause of severe illness and death in the newborn, occurs in about 5 percent to 10 percent of births. It typically occurs when the fetus is stressed during labor.
