Emmy, Chris, and Quinn woke up on May 15th at approximately 2:30am to a pounding at the front door. Chris assumed it was Alexis having forgotten her keys, but it was their neighbors telling them their house was on fire.

Chris alerted Emmy and she was in disbelief, at first, sure that he was joking. It quickly became apparent that he was not, as the smoke began to sting eyes and choke breaths. Emmy alerted Quinn and everyone ran out, Emmy and Quinn wearing blankets.

Emmy began running in and out getting pets out of the home, hoping to get them all out before the smoke became too thick to breathe. She was halted by the fire department when trying to return to get her long time pet, and companion, Dehni.

After 20 long painful minutes of panic and screaming for her fur baby, a fireman carried him outside unharmed.

Alexis arrived home from seeing friends to see her house in flames, a home she had moved into just days earlier; Chris and Emmy moving in a month prior to that.

Luckily, everyone got out safe, fur babies included. The home is now coated in smoke residue and not inhabitable.

The main part of the fire was focused in the garage, for the most part, and the garage is now a burnt shell and the attic is no more. The worst part about the location of the fire, is that Chris and Emmy's only vehicle was in the garage and is now a burnt and melted husk.

Because of this, Quinn, Chris, Emmy, and Alexis must all find a new home as soon as possible.

They are currently staying at a hotel, thanks to Red Cross. Their family and close friends are very grateful for this, even though it is only temporary assistance.

Anything helps. Seriously, ANYTHING.

Update #1

Update posted by Emily Towry at 06:40 am

The inspectors have informed us that the starting point of the blaze was our trashcans. We had not put anything in them in 3 days, meaning it's looking like arson. If anyone has any information on who may have done this, please contact us.ALSO:I wanted to give a HUGE thank. . . . .
