Help us start our surf school (small business)

My name is Marilena and i am from Greece. Last year i met Christos my boyfriend, who is a surf instructor. He was born in 1982 in New Jersey from Greek parents and at the age of 12 they came back to Greece. Last year he decided to turn his passion into a job, so he started teaching surf to children and adults (locals and tourists from all over the world). I met him on the beach as he was my surf instructor. He lives in Kyllini, a small village in West Peloponnese and I live in Athens where i work in a newspaper. Having a long distance relationship is really difficult to us emotionally and financially with the economic crisis our country is currently facing, and so we hope one day we will be able to live together.

For this reason, we decided to create our own surf school (with all the necessary legal papers and taxes of a small business) and try to make a living out of it. By the end of May everything will be ready to start our business legally for the summer. We want to make more people fall in love with the surf and spread the Aloha spirit to all of our students. We need some money to buy some equipment for our surf school, because we have only 2 old surfboards and last year a friend lent us two surfboards but we cannot borrow them again. So we need to buy 3-4 beginner surfboards (they are foamy which make them the safest choice especially when you teach surf to kids), UVA protection long sleeved t-shirts in different sizes for everyone, sunscreen for all of our students, and make some t-shirts with our logo printed on them, that we give as a gift to each of our students.

I don’t have any previous experience on how to ask for funding, so i just told you the whole story as it is and i am really looking forward to reach our goal! Any help is appreciated! Aloha!
