Help us show Emerald she really is a true gem!

Meet Emerald, although we know she is a true gem... it is clear her previous owner did not think so. Emerald, Emmie for short, is probably one of the happiest dogs we’ve ever met. Despite the horrific wounds she has sustained on her face, she is all kisses and wiggles. In some ways that makes this just that much worse. Last night we had Emmie admitted to Crown Emergency Vet and on my way home I couldn’t help be tear up with saddness and anger for what this monster did to this beautiful girl. There is nothing she could have done to warrant something being tied around her snout then wrapped around the back of her neck. Whatever it was, was wrapped around so tightly that the wounds are clear down to the bone. Her jaw is exposed! There is blood, puss and dead tissue just dripping from her face. Her body also bears the scars of being mistreated for quite some time. The facial wounds didn’t happen overnight either. Some awful, evil person was able to watch her suffer and felt nothing! The smell along from the rotting necrotic flesh is enough to clear a room. Emmie was sedated and the wounds were cleaned. They applied a special sav and wrap to promote healthy tissue growth so that we can get her scheduled ASAP for surgical repair.
