Help us serve our women with midwifery care, the Mennonite community and surroundings.

Women serving women! Give information to women in a safe place, on their reproductive health, where they can come and talk about their issues, get childbirth education, breastfeeding support, and respectful maternity care. And this will help us and other midwives serve our women in the Mennonite community in our own language, we only have 1 birth center with midwifery care in the area, since the midwifery care is not an option in our Hospitals here in Cuauhtémoc Chih just yet. we serve the surroundings area, and we have 3 cultures here.

With this fundraiser we can start funding a place, to help our women that are looking for alternative care, and don’t speak Spanish, or don’t speak Spanish well enough, to get the help they need, we grew up in a traditional Mennonite community where most people mostly speak Platdeutsch, read in German, and don’t speak well enough Spanish, or just a little English, most have the basic education, but sadly, women’s reproductive and sexual health is a big taboo around here. And are desperately in need for that to change, giving information and preparing women to have and inpowered birth experience is the goal.

This project we plan on, and would love to start working on this space between 2020 - 2021 with enough support maybe we can at least start. Because funds are the biggest obstacle, without the fund this project won’t see the light. So that’s why we want to start now. So hopefully by the time 2020 is here, we will have some of the funds needed to begin.

In this area the midwifery care was extinct, but since the C Section rates were so extremely high, the Mennonites started looking for other solutions, in other countries, and thanks to them they brought midwifery back into the community. We are second generation midwives, and this would really give us Midwives the chance to start better serving our community.

We are Trudy and Aggie and we have dreamt about this for a long time, and have thought a lot about it, so we have very nervously decided, to ask for funds for our project, people have a lot of opinions about these funding sites, and some are very negative and some have had extraordinarily blessing through this.

We both are birth doulas, breastfeeding educators, and menonite Midwives. We live in Mexico, we are both married.

and we need a space to work, that’s why we have decided to try getting funds for a space that is suitable for this kind of work.

Every dollar invested is a symbol of confidence and trust set into investing in women for better care, and the Midwives, Doulas and Breastfeeding educators. This project really means everything to us, our words will never describe how it makes us feel thinking that this might just become a reality, all we can say, truly from our heart, thank you for sharing with us, thank you for the support.
