Help us save our beach

Please help save our beautiful beach.

Our beach, which has been voted one of the 10 best beaches in Mozambique, is quickly being eroded away.Over the past two months the palms fringing the bay have been collapsing into the sea, and our best efforts over two months to shore up the coastline have been in vain.

Due to the Covid pandemic, which resulted in neighbouring borders being closed for almost a year, this has severely impacted our family owned lodge financially.

It is now apparent that the only way of halting this severe erosion is to import rolls of Geotextile anti erosion material from South Africa. This will protect an area of over 250 metres of beachfront. We will have to hire back actors to move soil and pay for labour and installation which will amount to over GBP30,000, but should last for at least 20 years.

Climate change and the increased number of cyclones has definitely taken their toll and we will make our best effort to save what we can.
