SILENT BEADS CAMPAIGN
From the name itself, one can somehow glean that Silent Beads is an advocacy. It all started when I gave a free workshop on making accessories for a deaf-mute community in the Philippines which was sponsored by the local Rotary Club. The experience exposed me to this oft-neglected sector in society which tugged at my heart.
Silent Beads is motivated by:
1. Helping Mother Earth to breathe by eliminating global paper wastes through recycling into beautiful beads and crafting medium; embedding the beads with seeds so that it will grow into plants after use.
2. The desire to help others make a difference in their lives particularly those who have no voice in society--- the poor, the marginalized, the abused, the neglected, and all others whose voices are silenced and whose future remains dim.
Your donations will help us seed fund Silent Beads Prototype 2.0. We will create products for Market Testing using our latest Seed Embedding Technology.
SILENT BEADS BACKGROUND
Silent Beads, founded on May 10, 2015, is the First Plantable Jewelry in the Philippines. Our products are made from recycled paper to help eliminate trash, and embedded with seeds so that they will grow into plants when thrown away. This includes All-Purpose Craft Medium that helps local and international artists to "Go Green" using our Throw and Grow System (T.a.G.S.).
Although relatively new in the industry, Silent Beads was featured on Philippine television via The Green Mind at LifeStyleTVPH. In July 2015, it was one of the Top 10 finalists at the PharmatonPH Life Changers Challenge.
Silent Beads founder, Monnick Cruz was one of the chosen delegates from the Philippines at the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES2016) held in Silicon Valley California U.S.A, hosted by no other than Pres. Barrack Obama.
