This request is to help my Wife (Maria Rozario) who has been diagnosed withLymphoma (Blood Cancer). After treating with high-dose chemotherapy for an year, disease has showed symptoms of remission but has re-lapsed though he has maintained strict diet and simple lifestyle. Currently my Wife is undergoing chemotherapy sessions at Hospital, for last 1 year on weekly basis and each visit makes him stay in hospital for 5-6 days.
My Wife is suffering from progressive multiple Lymphoma (Blood Cancer) and we had successfully performed Bone Marrow transplant. Post-transplant, my Wife was healing and we had regular follow-ups to evaluate the progress of our healing. On 09-Nov-2020 bone marrow aspiration test showed plasma cells increased upto 45% and we had to restart chemotherapy sessions. We had regular chemotherapy sessions till date but the bone marrow aspiration tests performed on 15-Feb-2021 showed more than 85% in plasma cell dominance. We were more worried as he was not able to perform his daily activities including eating, walking from one room to other and was mostly bed-ridden.
After consulting with multiple team of doctor's, New treatment option named Darzalex (medicinal term) was suggested and we have completed 4 cycles(weeks) of dosage till 29-Mar-2021. Currently it has showed tremendous improvement in my wife’s condition where initial visible improvements being ability to eat on his own and increase in walking distance. We are happy that he is able to do most of his activities on his own. Treatment option suggested is for a minimum of 16 weeks and on further evaluation requires additional 4-8 doses(weekly basis) based on my Wife condition.
We have spent close to $90,000.00 (Ninety Thousand US Dollars) in medical bills and will require another $30,000.00(Thirty Thousand Dollars) as estimated cost for remainder of the treatment.
This last month has been the most challenging time of my life and my biggest fear is that my wife won’t be able to get the care he needs because we can’t afford further to foot the medical bill. So, we are putting our trust in the power and numbers of people. Collectively we can fight for him and take away some of the burden of this terrible disease.
Any amount you can contribute is one step closer to his chances of survival.
