My name is Minoru Kawaguchi and me and my family have been rescuing and rehoming strays and abandoned cats for over two decades now. This is our 6 month old cat Easter. He's a rescued cat that was saved from a storm drain on Easter Sunday. He loves to eat and sleep as much as every cat out there. Recently we started noticing that he'd have body spasms and later discovered it to be a form of epilepsy. We brought him to the vet and the doctor suspected that it might be Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) which is a viral disease caused by a feline coronavirus that affects wild and domestic cats but it's not harmful to humans. We need to raise about 1000 dollars for treatment and further medical visitations.
He was not treated for FIP prior as we did not the possess the funds to do the full blood work prior and further treatment. So he was only given general meds. He's starting to grow weaker right now and we have started to feed him by hand. We suspect that he will need further treatment post FIP but feel that this needs to be tackled first. Provided are images of sweet Easter and a vet receipt. A bit of breakdown from what we can gather can come from this prior vet visit would be about 68 dollars for the bloodwork and 40+ dollars for the consult. Additional costs for treatment and further visitations would make up the remainder. The person whose name is on the first receipt and who paid for the first trip was one of our donors who wishes to remain anonymous.
I implore the general public to help us raise this amount. He's a real sweet cat whose biggest problem before this was wiping his own butt! We'd like to see him grow up to be the best cat he can be.
