Help us save animals that should be wild but kept captive in small cages, abused, electrocuted, or hit by a car. Some of them are too injured to ever return to the wild, like BlindBob below, with cataracts on his eyes, or the owl with only one wing. Others were over domesticated and cannot take care of themselves out in the world.
We are the IRescue Wildlife Sanctuary. We rescue, we rehab, or more often we give these animals a forever home, if they need it. Our mission is to save these doomed creatures that have nowhere else to go. We really need money to build large enclosures with trees inside and water features that these animals need and like.
Both of these birds cannot survive in the wild. Yet, they can still live a happy protected life, and they do now.
Won't you please help us help these animals?
We operate on a 500 acre property provided by American John Merritt in the mountains of the Costa Rican Southern Zone. We have plenty room for more animals, as long as we build suitable enclosures for them. We are sponsored by Minae, the Costa Rican government agency overlooking wildlife. We get many animals from Minae, but we need money to build safe places for new ones. If we had more enclosures, we could save many more animals.
We have many birds, including an owl with only one wing, an osprey with a tumor on one eye. By the way, we don't only take care of birds, we have many other kinds of animals, such as deer and raccoons, sloths, we even have a porcupine named Blossom.
