This
story has 32 years of dreams accompanied by hard work and many sacrifices. I
started working in the restaurant business at the age of 17 as an assistant
waiter and dishwasher, gradually moving up the position until I was management
in different establishments.
In
order to be able to care for and be close to my little daughter, I needed to
open our own place, a place with a quiet environment so that she could be
around.
After
lots of hard work and long hours, I decided to invest my tips of
almost 2 years and we rented an old house. I would work for that 2 years
arriving at dawn to work, and then until dawn the next day at the premises,
getting ready for opening Gatuna. After opening the doors to the public and
having some very bad nights, the fruits of my labor began and our
restaurant/lounge began to take a succesful direction. But the pandemic
arrived, people stopped traveling and eating out. We tried to sell to take
away, etc. but it honestly does not work when the products are of good quality
and valuable.
As
the months went by, the debts grew, the premises need some general repairs and
remodeling, update and endorse certain permits, restock in all areas. That is
why the decision was made to make this campaign. Any help or small
contribution is very much appreciated and welcome. It also helps by
sharing our link on your social media.

Gatuna Lounge is a gem that needs to be saved. There’s no space like it in Vallarta. I miss the música buenísima and the gourmet jalapeño poppers! And many other things, but mostly the gorgeous, relaxing space to sit and talk and feel alive. Eduardo was always such an excellent host. Let’s help him out.
