I am a 47 year old South African farmer. I am happily married to my wife Tracy, and have 9 wonderful children, (yes, you read that right). I have now got to the stage where I am weary of trying to be a solution in this country, and yet at the same time, being blamed for everything, just because I was born with a white skin! I need to get my family out of South Africa as I do not believe things will end well here. This action may well end up saving our lives, to be perfectly honest.
But the Rainbow Nation exists primarily in the minds of its promoters. Again, let me say it: Cross cultural adoptions are frowned upon by the vast majority of South Africans - not all, but most. My adopted children are seen as 'Coconuts'; brown on the outside but white on the inside. They are therefore not accepted by the black majority and in many ways seen as traitors, even though it was through no choice of theirs . This, coupled with the high rates of violent crime and rampant corruption have led me to want to look for opportunities for my children outside of South Africa. Emigration is no light matter and just the thought of it is stressful for me and my family, but it is something I believe I must do.
I own a farm which I bought 14 years ago with the hard-earned cash from the sweat of my brow. However, due to the government's intentions to expropriate (farm)land without compensation, farms are not selling, and if they do they are well below market value. So, even if I can sell my farm the proceeds won't cover relocation - especially for a large family like us. There is also the real danger of being a farmer in South Africa - Farmlands
Any donations toward this goal of ours are greatly appreciated. For those who do donate, we will be making the occasional video of our progress.
Note: There are many people, both black and white, who are wanting to leave South Africa for varying reasons. These predominantly include "High rates of violent crime and rampant corruption". These affect all law abiding citizens of South Africa.
