On June 2 at about 5am, Carl Christy Isakson, my dad, died of uncertain causes alone in his apartment in Seoul, South Korea. We believe it was a stroke.

My family lives in the Philippines, with dad working overseas to provide for the family. My mother, sister and I wish to travel from our home to South Korea to recover his remains, belongings, and sort out legal paperwork.

However, doing so costs far more money than we have. The money we make here will be used to pay for: cremation, morgue fees, travel cost, lodging, and other smaller and legal fees. Some of which we can not anticipate.

We would greatly appreciate any and all help you can provide. Please, help us bring my dad home.

  • On this day, what would be my father’s 75th birthday, I am grateful for your support in bringing my father’s remains home. I am also thankful to be able to re-read the comments left by his colleagues and friends. Thank you for sharing your memories and sentiments. ~Su Kyong, Carl’s eldest child

  • Carl was such a wonderful man, mentor, soldier and human being. I learned so much from him, about life, linguistics and being a human. Very sorry for your loss.
