Our family have survived the horrific Yolanda superstorm, where 10,000 people are feared dead. Super typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) was possibly the "strongest storm in recorded history" after it slammed the Philippines last Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. It has devastated our hometown, Tacloban City. The storm's strength was equivalent to an extremely powerful Category 5 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 195mph and gusts up to 235mph. It is far more powerful than Hurricane Katrina was, before it struck the U.S. with devastating effect in 2005. The whole Leyte area, specifically Tacloban was washed out and survivors have no means to feed themselves. Help from government and private sectors are there but not enough to serve everyone. Rushing to meet the most urgent needs of food, clean water, and emergency shelter for 400,000 people. Our baby was only 8 months old then, so we have decided to relocate here in Cebu with very minimal resources, since we have lost our house. Lately, we were navigating troubled waters one would never want to see in a lifetime, yet we can't go back to our hometown since we have lost our home. We have lost our home, but not our lives, and for that we are very blessed.

Now, my wife, Rutchel, will soon deliver on May. Her OB-Gyne's asked us to prepare a huge amount for her C-section operation, yet as a clerk I was only able to save a little as I am the breadwinner, and I am only earning enough. My mom lives with us as well. My wife's been a full time stay at home mom taking care of our 2-year-old first born daughter, then based on her last ultrasound our unborn baby is breech, so she needs to be under the knife for Cesarean delivery (which will be even more costly).

The issues to be dealt with now are coming like tsunamis, we have to move out of the house where we are renting, to find a more cheaper one after she delivers our 2nd baby, although she has family and friends by her side every step of the way (not to mention our beloved first born daughter, who is permanently glued to her side) yet she's been worrying over the costs. As a husband I would like to ease her stress. Costs for her operation will be astronomical, so we ask you please to help if you can. Your donations would save lives.

What would be left of your donation would go a long way in rebuilding the home we lost, and continue sharing our blessing to our keens who are also in need. May God bless your kind heart!
