Help us rebuild our flooded homes in Shah Alam

Hello. My name is Syed Ridhwan. I am one of the victims of the massive flooding that hit a huge part of Selangor/KL in the last few days. One of the hardest hit areas was Taman Sri Muda in Shah Alam. The flooding here has been extensive and has left thousands of families scrambling to recover from devastating personal loss.

Both my parents house, and my house, were greatly impacted by the flood waters. For the past several days, our homes have been submerged in approximately 3-4 feet of water and the worst was on Sunday, 19 December when the flood water rose to 9-10 feet, completely submerging the entire lower floor of our 2-storey homes and the cars within its porch.

The damage has been catastrophic. We know that the rebuilding process will be long and difficult. At this point we are asking for your help as we prepare for the work ahead of us.

All of your generous contributions will go towards:

• cleaning up our property
• repairing and rebuilding our family homes
• repairing and rebuilding two cars belonging to my dad and my sister
• replacing furniture, appliances and other necessary items

The repair and rebuild costs may be in excess of hundred thousand ringgit as the insurance does not cover flood. We would be eternally grateful for any support you could offer in this time of crisis.
