Campaign Story
Difficult times bring families together. These unprecedented times caused our embrace to be much tighter, our conversations to be much deeper, and our times spent together to be cherished longer. But right now, this is proven to be difficult for our family as one of our own, our father, Tommy Manalo (Papa Tommy) is fighting for his life, alone.
He was rushed to the ICU at the Mary Mediatrix Medical Center (Lipa City Batangas, Philippines) on May 22, 2021 after suffering severe complications from Stroke and the onset of Pneumonia mercilessly amplified by COVID-19. His oxygen level fell dramatically as his heart beat slowed down. He is also suffering stage 2 diabetes for 15 years and is sustained by insulin.
Without anyone of us by his side due to covid restrictions, it is difficult to obtain real-time information about his current state. The latest update we received as of the writing of this letter is that he is slowly recovering.
At our present economic landscape, it takes more effort and patience to earn a living to support oneself financially. That being said, any amount would be greatly appreciated. All the funds collected through this will only be for Papa Tommy’s medical expenses. As of this moment, the running bill is about 500,000 Philippine Pesos. And if you are not able to donate, a prayer would go a long way. We are going to provide more updates of his condition as soon as we receive any news from the doctors.
