Hello Everyone, My name is Jordan Walker and I am very proud father of an Autistic boy named Ryan. Ryan is an amazing incredible extraordinary 5 year old boy with special needs. As parents we have done everything to make sure our son has always had the best of everything that we could afford to provide. We knew always from a very early age that something was off with our son since he was born with a form of Severe Muscular Torticolis and required 8 months of physical therapy when he was a baby. Hoping therapy might resolve most of his issues but unfortunately we began to notice several other even more serious issues as time went on. This prompted us to get him additional help and enrolled him in a special education program which as per their initial evaluations deemed him to be developmentally delayed. It was difficult to test Ryan early on since he was not talking until 4. This resulted in him being diagnosed improperly and then an (IEP) "Individualized Education Plan" was created with not the right Designation. Unbeknownst to us it turned out that if we did not get a proper diagnosis before the age of 6 that our child could be excluded from special education and no longer be able to receive services. Recently something came up where we have experienced a tremendous battle and difficulty with fighting our local school district for the approval of specialized services continuing on with Ryan moving forward into his next step into Kindergarten. Our local school district when discussing our sons future decided to make things difficult and required us to go and have our son completely evaluated privately for the diagnosis of Autism. First there was a $2000 Expense for the Medical Evaluation with Reports which included Genetic Testing, then there was a $4000 very Intensive Psychological Evaluation which included a 30 page report. We then had more than several out of pocket expenses for Ryan for other additional Services which basically used up all of the money that we had in savings.

We tapped into all of our savings and spent everything to get Ryan the help that he needed. You see without the Diagnosis of Autism on our sons IEP which is an Individualized Educational Plan our son would not get to go to the right school with the right services and would become just another statistic of an Autistic child who had fallen through the cracks. My wife and I knew that this would mean that we would be required for the rest of his life to pay out of pocket in excess of 15,000 year to pay for services for him. My wife and I knew that if we didn't get the IEP updated prior to him leaving Pre-K that our son would ultimately be the one to suffer. We decided that it would be necessary to hire and educational advocate and and Attorney that could fight for Ryan and get him what he deserved. Well the Incredible news is that Everything worked out and the Attorney did an Incredible Job at representing our interests and now Ryan's IEP has been changed to incorporate the primary exceptionality on his (IEP) for Autism. Ryan even got into the appropriate school, so we are very happy. There are still some costs that we are struggling to pay for out of pocket and we don't have the additional funds to pay for. We are looking for help, Any help would be greatly appreciated. We thank you for your generosity in this time of need.
