I'm Raymart Manaluz, 28 years old, was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease last May 2019. Since then, I am doing routine hemodialysis twice a week and daily sets of medications.
June 2020, I tested positive with COVID-19. Thankfully, I only suffered from mild sypmtoms and was treated at home. Soon after, I experienced an unexplained weakness, difficulty of brething and edema in different parts of my body. My doctor then requested for several tests including X-ray and Angiogram to identify the cause. The results shown that my heart has increased in size due to accumulation of fluids which compressed my lungs which altered my breathing. My Doctor immediately advised to increase the frequency of my dialysis from 2 times to 3 times a week plus new medications were prescribed to normalize and prevent further heart complications.
From this day on, me and family were challenged physically, emotionally and most of all financially. We were able to sustain the treatment for a few months using my salary and my family's savings. Apparently, sometime in September 2020, I lost my job due to our company's retrenchment caused by this pandemic. This is when it felt like both heaven and earth fell down on me but I trust God's plans and kept fighting using all the help and resources we can have.
Now, my Doctor has advised to undergo a kidney transplant as soon as possible since my case is not improving and can no longer sustain this lifetime treatment. The costs are unimaginable and we cannot think of any possible ways to proceed.
Me and my family are reaching out for any financial assistance thru this campaign, at least for allotted cost of the transplant. I know that we are all affected by this pandemic but I am hoping and praying for the best
Please help me fight this through.
Thank you in advance and God Bless us all.
