My name is Christine, friends call me Cici. I was diagnosed with Stage 1C High Grade Serous Carcinoma back in 2018. Within 4 months from diagnosis, my cancer has progressed to Stage 4 and I had to undergo 2 surgeries and 4 chemo sessions ( 3 of which are intravenous and 1 Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy). My family and I were extremely grateful for all the support that we received from relatives, friends, former colleagues, and strangers who have extended help so I can get access to treatment. It breaks my heart to have to ask for help again because I need treatment for a possible recurrence. I have yet to undergo several tests to determine if the cancer is back and how far it has invaded my body this time. I got the CA125 and it is not looking very good with a result of 603.50 as of November 13, 2020.

My last surgery with HIPEC on July 30, 2018 has left me with a permanent ileostomy. It never hindered me from recovering and getting myself back to working so I can slowly pay for my medical debts and pay for my ostomy supplies. It was difficult to keep a job throughout this 2 year recovery period from cancer but I was motivated to and I feel grateful enough that I was able to somehow provide for my needs and occasionally help my family during these years. I wish I could do more for the community though - ex. I want to help kids and our local community in getting access to information by building a library where they can have access to more books and computers. I also want to continue protecting the environment through Tree Planting Activities, teaching kids the value of trees in our lives, and so much more!

Unfortunately, around April of 2020 I felt a lump growing at 11 o’clock of my left breast. I was in denial and was hoping that the lump would go away on its own without having to go through another surgery. I was also too afraid of going near the hospitals for fear of contracting COVID-19. That same lump continued to grow until last month it started giving me pains. I also felt another lump on the nipple of the same breast. Because of the size of the lump, Dr. Singco recommends a removal surgery ASAP.

I am hoping to get the surgery done this Friday, November 20 to avoid further complications. I will be admitted this Thursday to get everything ready before the surgery. I have undergone the following procedures from my previous surgery:

• Exploratory Laparotomy
• Cytoreductive surgery
• Peritonectomy
• Splenectomy
• Total Colectomy
• TAHBSO
• HIPEC
• BILATERAL CTT

I am re-opening this fundraising because I could use some help with saving up for the upcoming surgery. I have been separated from my husband (not legally yet) and I respect his decision but that would mean I have to just rely on my salary and the support of family and friends to get me through treatment. We’re aiming to raise more funds because after the removal of this lump, chemo may possibly be needed. I have a previous diagnosis of High-Grade Serous Carcinoma, it’s an aggressive tumor. I’m hoping the cancer isn’t back yet but if it is, I intend to fight it as hard as I can just like I did the last time. Your support would mean a lot to me and my family.
