The Philippine is considered as one of the 18 mega-biodiverse countries in the world. As an archipelago with approximately 7,641 islands, the country contains 2/3 of the earth’s biodiversity and more than 70% of the world’s plant and animal species.
We have about 25,000 square kilometers of coral reef ecosystems, which is home to 505 species of corals and 915 species of reef fishes.
However, due to unrestrained development and promotion of extractive industries, our coral reef ecosystems have rapidly deteriorated over the years.
2019 is the year of the #LivingCoral, do your share in helping our corals live longer.
Whether they be monetary or in kind, your donations go a long way to help in the promotion of natural and sustainable means to save and protect the country's coral reefs.
