Help us fund our honeymoon!

A little bit about us and our history:

We met on a train in Italy on our way to France for a six week long ALSG French studies tour. This was in July of 1975 when we were both 17 years old. I was a shutter-bug and taking pictures of the kids on the trip (Alison says all the girls) in the group, but, stopped once I met Alison. We started talking, and quickly became great friends, and spent the rest of the trip together studying, site seeing, traveling, having a great time.

Our first date came much later... we spent the whole day at the San Diego Safari Park on Jan 3rd, 2015 - 40 YEARS LATER! So, to connect the dots between 1975 and 2015... After our trip to Europe in 1975, while we kept in touch for a couple years, our lives went in different directions.

Alison got married and had six children, I got married and had one child. Her husband passed away almost 3 years ago, and I have been single for over 20 years.

A year ago this week, she found my email address by accident. She was clearing out old contacts from her phone because it was full (could not take any more pictures), but because she is not technical, she thought that deleting old contacts would help (rather than deleting un-needed pictures). She came across my contact and was surprised to see it because she had not put there, (her daughter had synced the iPhone with her computer). Alison decided to call the number but it was now owned by someone else. She then texted to my email address to see if it was still active.

I was in my car and got a chime that there was a text. I looked at the iPhone and saw her name. Immediately a flood of great memories from 40 years ago came rushing back to me. I was very surprised, really in disbelief that it was really her texting me. So I asked a question that only she could answer. Of course it was her.

We talked for hours. After several weeks of phone calls and emails, we re-united this past January 3rd. It was like 40 years had not passed, we reconnected just as if we were still 17, and had one of the best days doing everything at the park. We have fallen in love and have been inseparable ever since.

So... We want to be able to take a Honeymoon cruise on the Mediterranean in October 2016. We're getting married on December 21st, 2015. If you are attending (or even if you aren't) and considering a wedding gift, we would be very appreciative of a contribution to our Honeymoon! We will be cruising on the Oceania ship Riviera to Italy, France, and Spain. We want to re-capture the essence of our trip to Europe where we first met in 1975.
