Help us Overcome this New Challenge

Hello everyone , I hope your having a good day. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks to family and friends for their prayers and support.

My name is Dante Amoy husband and caregiver to my loving plantita wife Veronica Del Rosario Amoy, I created this page to seek help in supporting my wife's new challenge.

She is 51 years old with two kids aged 19 and 16 respectively. On July 2019 she was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer with metastases on her Paratracheal lymph nodes ( lymph nodes that run along the sides of your trachea (windpipe) in the neck) and malignant plural effusion (fluid in her lung) . Doctors drained more than 3 liters of fluid from her right lung, a catheter was placed to drain further build up of effusion. On October 2019 she was again rushed to the hospital for breathlessness and the doctors found out that her cancer progressed despite being on chemotherapy and have pericardial effusion (excess fluid between the heart and the sac surrounding the heart). A catheter was then again placed on her to drain the fluid build up surrounding her heart.

First week of December 2019 after a few more rounds of chemo and radiation therapy, her oncologist changed her treatment protocol and switched her to oral targeted therapy to which she responded well. Scans suggested her tumors decreased in size and she lived healthier for the next few months of 2020. Fast forward August last year after her second CT scan and after being changed to targeted therapy, radiologist noticed a 1 centimeter mass on her left breast. Her oncologist at first thought it was scarring due to radiation therapy. She started getting fever every now and then and noticed the mass was growing. She was referred to see a Breast Cancer Specialist . The doctor ordered an ultrasound to see if it’s benign. Suspicious result came in and biopsy was immediately suggested. Lo and behold, as if Stage IV Lung Cancer (Adenocarcinoma) was not enough, the biopsy result was that she has Stage 2A Breast Cancer (Carcinoma). Doctors suggest my wife get a Mastectomy (surgical removal of one or both breasts, partially or completely).

I wrote this to make an appeal for your help as the estimated cost for the surgery according to the doctor amounts to 190,000 Php. This excludes the chemo therapy that comes right after the surgery. Currently , we do not have the means to pay for this operation from my meager salary from driving and she now no longer work. We are still trying other agencies to plead our case, but we can’t wait for long as we were advised that to avoid the breast cancer from spreading, it is best to surgically remove it as soon as possible.

I have faith in the Lord that He will provide and give us the strength to go through this new challenge. And hopefully, through you, my humble plea to your gracious hearts will be granted. I know what each and everyone one of us are going through during these trying times. I’m only appealing for any amount that can help lessen the cost. But I am appealing to you more for prayers.
