We are fundraising to set up Aquaponics systems in kit form, for the Villagers and surrounding towns. It is a closed system which consists of grow beds and fish. The fish mess in the water, this feeds the plants. The plants use the mess as their "food and nutrients ", and in turn provides the fish with clean water.

The yield for fish and vegetables is roughly four times that of a normal harvest, which means feeding families and providing them with their own income. Our goal is to teach rural villagers how to use the system for a fresh supply of fish and vegetables. The long term goal is to help them become self sustainable using minimal land - i.e setting up in their own back yards. Our further goal is to help children with schooling - i.e school fees, tuition, etc. This will come from the profits of the Aquaponics System.

The start up costs would include the land we require, housing, employing the locals from surrounding areas and the material needed to start the grow beds and fish farming. We believe in this day and age, that this is something South Africa needs - desperately. "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. But teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime" - this is our motto :)
