Campaign Story
Ramon "Chito" Mañalac
Our father tested positive for Covid 19 on his birthday last October 11, 2020. He is one of the victims of COVID19, and he is currently fighting for his life in a hospital in Imus, Philippines. To date, he has been in ICU for 3 weeks, and unfortunately, he remains unresponsive.
My father Chito was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and encephalopathy. These conditions caused both hemispheres of his brain (i.e., major vessels) be affected due to lack of oxygen, which in turn lead to a stroke and seizures.
Currently, he is still under observation and may require intubation anytime soon. His physicians’ prognosis was dim. Even if he will be lucky enough to survive Covid19, his cognitive functioning returning to normalcy appears to be bleak.
The immense hospital expenses drained our family’s meager resources. It has already been 3 weeks since my father’s hospitalization, but unfortunately, there is still no significant recovery in sight. Our family is still faithfully invoking God’s protection and healing for our beloved father, but we do sincerely need assistance from others, especially those who know him.
With humility, we are asking for prayers and financial help. We do know that these are challenging times for everyone, but we are still banking on the compassion, empathy, and generosity of others. Any and all monetary assistance will be deeply appreciated. With this, please see the bank account details below for your reference. In behalf of our family, thank you. May God bless your family.
