Help us have our dream home birth.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read my story.

After years of trying I am finally pregnant again. Yay! And now baby is due this September.

While being pregnant with my first child I had dreamed of having a home birth.
I planned, I prepped, but sadly my daughter was born by cesarean birth. Even though that birth ended up being stressful and traumatic I am determined to try again for the birth I had hoped for. With this being my last pregnancy I really want to experience natural childbirth in all of its glory.

Seeing that positive sign filled my heart with so much joy and hope but I didn’t know what a struggle it would be to find a private midwife that would be willing to support my home birth.
And after finally finding my wonderful midwife I now have reached my biggest obstacle yet which is not being able to afford her anymore.
Having a private birth means every expense is out of our own pockets and as a single-income, special needs, family we simply cannot afford our midwife without your help and generosity.

I dream of a calm, serene birthing experience where I am not forced into interventions, where I am free to birth my baby as I choose, where my choices are respected, where I feel supported and loved by those around me.

I am working very hard to prepare my body and mind to achieve a natural birth, but with hospital time limits and interventions I fear that I would not be allowed the opportunity to at least try for a natural birth. The specific hospital I would have to go to does not even allow doulas.

I want my family to experience the birth of our baby with me but with Covid hospital restrictions I would be forced to spend my entire labour without my partner and he would only see us at the very end, if at all, as due to Covid restrictions his right to visit us might be taken away too.
I would have to labour alone in the ward at the mercy of strangers. And my daughter will only be able to meet her new sibling when we go home.

I am asking for help in hopes that I can bring our newest blessing into this world in a safe, loving, and peaceful environment.
