Help us go on, please

We are husband and wife, we got married last December. We were living together in Rome, but my husband had troubles finding a job in  Rome, then we decided  to move in the north of Italy for my husband to find a job and live our life. 

We arrived in province of Milan the 2nd of April, full of hopes for the future, hoping the dark times were over.  He found a job in May as self employed, we were so positive, we found a flat we liked but  unfurnished. We talked and decided to rent it and buy our own furniture for the first time of our life. 

We bought the furniture, we used all the money we had left, and we signed for debt promissory notes, thinking  the dark time was over. I had a job and HE had a job. 

The 1st of June I went back home for lunch and he was not there. He wasn't answering the phone either. After one hour the Police phoned me telling me he had a motorbike accident and he was brought to the hospital nearby home. 

It's been 4 MONTHS now he is not working. He has been in the hospital for 2 months. He reported multiple fractures, his right foot was cut off completely and put back on in a 7 hours emergency operation, he had a cranial trauma with brain bleeding, he has lost 50% of his hearing, and at present he is still having home care because he is still not able to walk and be indipendant, he needs to be attached to a physiotherapy machine 8 hours a day everyday. 

We are living just with my salary, which is not enough to pay the rent, the bills, the food for two AND for the debts we made for the furnitures. The insurance WILL pay for the damages but it is going to take a while, because the counterpart ( the car that hit my husband) is contesting everything ,even though she did not report any physical damage at all.  The public prosecutor is invetigating this case, but the times, the waiting time is quite  long for our situation. 

Hopefully by January we will see some euros, but for now please give us a hand. We are honest people working people, we have always being honest and we will always be. Please help us.

Siamo marito e moglie, ci siamo sposati lo scorso 21 Dicembre. Vivevamo a Roma ma mio marito aveva problemi a trovare lavoro a Roma allora decidemmo di trasferirici nel nord Italia, alla ricerca di una vita migliore, con la speranza di poter vivere meglio.

Ci siamo traferiti il 2 Aprile in provincia di Varese, mio marito trovò un lavoro a maggio come libero professionista e pensammo che i tempi bui fossero finiti! Pieni di speranza e con una visione meno buia del futuro, trovammo un appartamento carino da affittare ma senza moili. Parlammo e decidemmo di prenderla comunque e di investire per comprare i NOSTRI mobili, per la prima volta nella nostra vita. Spendemmo tutti i soldi che avevamo e firmammo cambiali per comprare i mobili. 

Il primo giugno tornai a casa dal lavoro ad ora di pranzo e mio marito non era lì. Non rispondeva neanche al telefono. Dopo un'ora mi chiamò la Polizia informandomi che mio marito era all'ospedale che aveva avuto un grave incidente di moto al suo ritorno a casa dal lavoro. 

Sono 4 mesi che mio marito non lavora, è stato ricoverato per 2 mesi in ospedale. Ha avuto fratture multiple, taglio netto del piede destro con recisione di arteria tibiale, piede ricucito in 7 ore di intervento di emergenza il 1 giugno, trauma cranico e emorragia cerebrale,  ha perso il 50%del suo udito. Ad oggi ancora non cammina, non è ancora autosufficiente, sta ricevendo cure a casa, deve stare attaccato ad un macchinario di fisioterapia per 8 ore al giorno. Non può lavorare. Non può uscire da solo. Non ha più neanche un mezzo di trasporto.

Stiamo vivendo solo con il mio stipendio che assolutamente non è abbastanza per mangiare in due, pagare l'affitto e le bollette e onorare le cambiali che purtroppo abbiamo fatto prima del suo incidente. 

L'assicurazione pagherà i danni ma i tempi sono lunghissimi e non abbiamo ancora visto un euro, al momento non ce la facciamo senza aiuto. La controparte sta contestando tutto anche se non ha riportato neanche un minuscolo danno fisico. Il pubblico ministero sta prendendo un sacco di tempo per fare i rilevamenti che gli servono. Nel frattempo abbiamo bisogno di una mano per favore. Siamo gente onesta e lavoratrice, lo siamo sempre stati e sempre lo saremo. GRazie
