Honda Battle of the Bands 2011
January 30, 2011 right before we were leaving from the weekend's events, a gorgeous young lady (Salea) tapped this handsome young brother (Geoffrey) on the shoulder just to take a simple picture being that we are both #3 for Phi Mu Alpha SInfonia Fraternity of America, Inc. and Sigma Alpha Iota International Fraternity, Inc. respectively.
So after a few pictures and the exchanging of Facebook info we went on our separate ways and went back to normal life.
May of that same year some random FB conversation became phone/text conversations about how we had much in common and how a friendship was truly there, and that's where we left it for quite sometime: friendship
Geoff's account of it all.
From May 2011 until the end of 2012, Salea and I knew that we would be lifelong friends. Both of us are children of ministers, we're Sagittarius, we sing, love Christ and want to be used by Him mightily, I mean we just have so much in common its crazy.
The way we first got in contact was hilarious to me. We were messaging on Facebook and then she writes "I'm about to call you" In my head I'm like, she doesn't have my number though...then *ring ring* (and that's why you shouldn't have your number on Facebook!!)
I could write a book of just how God moved in the time we stayed friends. Conversations about every detail of our lives or just about music and the songs we loved. It was a blessing and a reason why I started to seek the face of God like I did. I knew that if I wanted to be with Salea, I would have to tighten up and ask the Father for her hand in marriage.
I knew our time had come when it was a simple comment of "LOL" on a picture we took some time back. I think that was God's way of telling me "OK, now you can go ahead" AND I DID! I jumped at the chance to have this amazing woman of God as my girlfriend.
Our first official weekend together at Honda 2013 was amazing! She got to meet my family, a few of my friends, we went on our first date to Seasons 52 and even ate the same meal. I love this girl so much and it just blesses me that when I went to see her graduate I also got to ask her for her hand in marriage
Salea's Account of It All
The very first time that I saw Geoffrey I was like wow the only attractive Sinfonian Ive seen since I've been at Honda lol. It was funny to me but because he was my club I had to get a picture. I cant necessarily say that was my ticket because we were both in relationships. So I wasn't even focused on him, I just thought we would be cool. Who knew we would have so much in common and grow to a super spiritual friendship, because that's what our friendship consisted of; us showing each other videos of the cold people we found on Youtube and discussing the things we were going through at the time. God designed in Geoffrey exactly what I prayed for and more, and I was so busy looking back in my past that I almost missed the sight of this great MAN of PEACE in front of me.
After that picture took place, I hit him up first and let him know that I had the picture uploaded. It was funny because I didnt want it to seem awkward plus we had just both became single so it was like okay, the thirst is not real at the moment or ever, im chillin and enjoying being by myself. Geoffrey mentioned many times " Salea Im going to Marry you" and I just used to ignore him, change the subject lol any way to get away from that I did it lol. Yet, he showed me something different, and I'll never forget that he was always consistent and just a friend. He did try to rush into a relationship lol, but I was not having it. Yet at the end of it all, he became the man I grow to love even more each day. Its been almost 3 years and I am so excited to share my life with the man that God created for me. I am so happy and I am going to marry my bestfriend ontop of that. He's so supportive and I literally cannot wait til next year. SN: Geoffrey I love you and I am excited to spend my life with you, im marrying you homie, so make sure you ready lol. I love you babe
