Trying to find where to start but my thoughts can’t even be in order anymore, safe to say i was never this stressed before. So many things happened today two new dogs that were found in the streets by a kind lady, 2 more puppies that were found in a plastic back that had their first vet visit today and staying at a temporary foster home, poor Rupert the cat is being fed through a tube as he still doesn’t want to eat for some reason and of course at the top of all this something else had to go wrong. My car broke down on my way to the vet this morning and after waiting a bit for the car to be transferred to the mechanic, he found out the timing belt broke and the car will cost up to 1100 euros to get fixed as it needs another engine , which is totally crazy as the car doesn’t even worth that much. I’ve got a temporary lift from a friend so i can be able to go to the shelter everyday but i am not allowed to put dogs in the car which is totally understandable as they are already doing me a favor anyway. The last couple of days a friend of mine listed her van for sale on Facebook marketplace as she is relocating and as soon as i saw it i thought that is exactly what we need for the shelter but of course there are no money available for that as we are barely surviving feeding our dogs and covering vet bills every month. Especially after today I thought i’d give it a go and ask from all of you to help us reach the target so we can finally have a lift of our own, a van that will be able to cover all the needs of the shelter, as well as our small charity shop that is the only thing keeping us going. All this years I’ve always used my cars and ruined so many for the sake of the dogs but now we need to get a decent car/van. Every shelter has one and two and three vans and trucks but we never had anything because simply the help we get isn’t even close as to what other shelter get. We are only a few people and mostly me i dare to say but there’s a limit to the things i can and can’t do since all of my days and time revolves around the dogs and cats at the shelter. On the last freedom flight we had , we went to the airport with five different cars so we could fit all the dogs and crates , because the van guy that usually helps us was booked to go for someone else and everyone else we asked was quoting between 250 and 350 euros to take the dogs to the airport and we would still need another car to go as they wouldn’t take any of us or wait through the check in process that can take up to 2-3 hours when you have 20 dogs to check in, imagine if we had to pay that amount every month just so we can take our dogs to the airport when we already spent a lot and lose so much for the sake of them finding homes. Having our own van will mean that we finally don’t depend on anyones schedule and if we need to get from a to b then we can do it. At the moment i can’t even take dogs or cats at the vet to prepare them for the next flight or even more important for an emergency. My kind friend Annelie said that she will wait until January 20th for us to raise the money if we don’t succeed until then unfortunately she’ll have to give it to someone else which is fair and we totally understand but at the same time we really hope that we will reach our target as it’s a very good price for that size of a van and it will make our life a hundred percent better. We have set the price to 6500 euros as there’s gonna be reductions from the amounts donated as that’s how this pages work. Also in the meantime if anyone has a spare car that we can use for the time been and that we are allowed to put dogs in please get in touch with us, i have a clean license. If anyone wishes to donate differently i can always add your amount manually. For Paypal [email protected] (using friends and family option) and noting that is for the van.
