Help us get our electric back on

Our electric was shut off thursday the 3rd. We never received any notices or calls and I didn't save receipts as I have never had an issue before. The electric company let it go for 5 months and the bill is 2500 to turn back on. We have spoke to the company and have never been treated so poorly. My husband and I have 4 kids at home and one is disabled and another has asthma. We have tried resources and churches and there is no help available where we live. We don't have family to help and have been turned down for every loan applied even with collateral. My husband works a full time job but even one pay period isn't half what we need to get it on. I receive disability. We are desperate at this point and don't know what to do. We can't be without electric and they refuse to work with us. This is the only electric company serving ouyr community. If I had saved receipts maybe this wouldn't have happened. But the company also needs to figure out where our 300 monthly payments went to. Either way we have no way to stay cool or cook or shower without electricity. Please help us.
