Hi My name is Jeni, myself and my family have been living in NZ for about 18years. We have settled some pretty deep roots here in this very beautiful country, in our time here we have rescued many ex-racehorses, teaching them that life will be easy from now on, its not easy and you have your share of risks but for us its all been worth it knowing that these little guys are not going to the works! But recently my grandparents have decided they want to return over to Europe as the truly miss the beautiful villages, the charm, traditions and history that you only find in Europe, but what tears us apart is we have to leave so much behind as in loved ones, you may laugh at this but we love our little animals to bits they are family to us and already we have had to part with many which has been so hard. And we are doing this as we feel its our duty to be by my grandparents side if anything was to happen as many of us will know with age we don't get any younger, so we feel we need to be there to support them. But on our side we are leaving so much behind :( me and my mother have a beautiful natured ex-racehorse which we rescued, we now have our wonderful Eddy for close to 3years, he is such a character and has come such a long way, if Eddy hadn't come to us his fate would have been very different! As so many racehorses get recycled like rubbish after racing, we love Eddy to bits and just wish we could take him but on our own we will never make it, the NZ$ is very low against the European exchange rates and sadly didn't win lotto so we have to be reasonable and its just not possible for us to make ends meet on our own. We are not people use to asking for support but normally giving support and helping whenever we can and some friends whom we helped through difficult times said we shouldn't be a shamed to ask for help, so here i am with high hopes that this may touch a few, that perhaps have been in our shoes and know how hard it is to say goodbye and leave everything you once knew behind you.
Thank You Jeni
