Hi, my name is Charies Grande. I am a single parent of a son who is a Norwegian Citizen. I would like to take my son back to Norway to live so that he may be blessed with a better education and quality of life, and where I am better able to care for him!

Notably, in the Philippines, my son's Kindergarten is a mere 2 hours each day -- and there are little to no jobs that I have been able to work in such a short span of time, even if I did not have to factor in time spent on transportation.

In contrast, Norway, Kindergarten takes up the whole day so that parents are able to work normal hours.

I previously was working part-time, but because I am looking after my son when he is not at school and do not have many who can assist me (responsible babysitters are difficult to find), I was getting just 2 hours of SLEEP a night and becoming totally burnt out! We stay at my father's home to save on rent costs, but are still having to pay for expenses:

Educational items, food, clothing, transportation to/from school and for groceries, electricity, gas, Philhealth (government insurance, many people are surprised to find out that there is little assistance in places like the Philippines for single Moms like me), and internet so that both of us are able to learn and communicate.

My ex is only able to contribute $300 USD per month, which sounds like a lot, but it's "about" just right to break even each month after our above expenses and the cost of our son's school fees.

My ex otherwise does not want much to do with helping to raise his own son, and certainly not toward a Visa/residency renewal or flight so that my son is able to have a better life being raised in Norway.

I would prefer it if my son were not exposed to seeing a different woman in my ex's home every other week or every 3 months and wish he would have a more upstanding relationship with his son.

I am basically relegated to raising my son alone, and I do not have much, nor does my family.

My son and I previously lived in Norway along with my then-husband. In December of 2015, we flew to the Philippines together for a trip. On what should have been a beautiful day -- our Anniversary date -- my then-husband shocked me out of the blue by filing for separation. Turns out, he had been cheating and sleeping around, even while we had our vacation!

This was so shocking and emotionally devastating that I didn't know what to do.. except for to fly back to the Philippines so that I could be comforted by family and friends rather than feeling so alone.

During that trip, which was meant to be a temporary stay in the Philippines with family, my residency permit for Norway lapsed in May of 2016 as I was unable to secure the funds in time to fly back to Norway.

The only way I can renew my Residency permit, due to their requirements, is in-person.

To do this, I would be very thankful for assistance in helping me afford the cost of a Visa renewal (so I can go there in person) and flight for my son and I to Norway (the only way we can renew the Visa and begin our journey there together).

I am better able to care for my son in Norway than in the Philippines, due to Norway's stellar social, educational and healthcare system.

Thank you all for your kindness!
