Aubrey is an eleven year old Grade 6 learner from a small school in the Western Cape, in a small town called Mossel Bay. Aubrey started his brief gymnastics career a bit more than a year ago, as a way to feed his deep love for jumping around on a trampoline. He knew nothing of tramp-lining as a sport, but was quickly infatuated with the whole ordeal. Practising two hours a day wasn't enough, as he would go straight home and jump until the sun went down. During the last year he has amassed a string of achievements, thanks to his wonderful coach and partner in crime at the club(a friend who is just as talented), but his most notable was taking the gold for both the Euro-Trampoline and Double-Mini events at the Provincial Championships in Cape Town during July. With this achievement he ensured himself a spot in the Western Province team and an opportunity to compete at the South African Games in October of this year. As so many other sports, there is unfortunately very little to no financial support from the Sports Federation in South Africa, and the entry fees, clothing, transport and accommodation has to be funded by the gymnasts themselves. Therefore any contributions made towards realizing the dream of competing on the highest national level, will be deeply appreciated.
