Campaign Story
This is my neice Ashante Dzemwa - she was born in June 2016 and at 6 weeks developed jaundice which deteriorated so much that at two months she was diagnosed with biliary atresia. An operation was perfomed (Kasai procedure) to try and correct the problem, but that did not work. Now at nine months she has developed Liver Scleroris and has difficulty breathing and retains water in her body that has to be drained. Doctors have advised to have liver transplant which can be done in India (our cheapest option) - this requires that one of her parents will donate the liver and the other care for the two patients while they recover. We pray that the transplant is a success. The parents' medical aid can cover the full cost of the operation but we desperately need money for fares and accommodation to India. We are appealing to well wishers to assist us raise funds so that baby Ashante can go for this much needed operation to save her life. Any contributions are welcome. Baby Ashante lives in Zimbabwe with her parents and siblings (brother and sister) - she is a fighter, has endured all the operations and still smiles.
