We started rescuing animals over a year ago. He is our Sixth. He was found lying on the street, soaking wet, covered in ticks and fleas, he was barely moving and was almost close to dying. He was surrounded by people but not a single soul even dared to touch him or check on his condition, to make matters even worst, an old lady splashed water all over him to drive him away and told us to do the same. We immediately carried him and took a tricycle so we can take him to the closest vet we can find. We knew it was just gonna be a matter of time before his weak body gives up.
We rushed him to the nearest and well known animal hospital in Mandaluyong but we were refused admission unless we pay for an emergency fee of PHP2500 because it was already past 7PM ( that does not include the medications, confinement and professional fees yet ) We were also required to pay a down payment for PHP2000 before they would even look at the dog. Since this rescue was done in such a hurry we didn't have that much money to pay for the amount they were asking for. We felt so helpless sitting in the parking lot with a dying dog. We started calling people out, until we got a referral from Philippine Animal Rescue Team (P.A.R.T.) and was told to take him to Philippine Pet Birth Control. The kind-hearted people in PPBC took Sixth in without asking for a single cent upon admission since we made it very clear that we do not have the money to shell out that night. We made a promise though, that no matter what happens we will not abandon him.
Today, December 6, we went to the vet to check on Sixth, the doctor told us that he is still unstable but he is beginning to eat. They are still uncertain as to how long it will take for him to completely recover. Running bill is almost PHP5000. Each day that he spends in the hospital will cost around PHP1000. We really cannot afford this, that is why we are seeking the help of our fellow dog lovers in funding Sixth's medical bills. We really want him to survive. It's almost Christmas. Christmas is a time for family but this poor soul does not have one. Please help us. Please donate and share this link.
No animal deserves to be abandoned and every abandoned animal deserves a second chance.
