Help us fund our organization to raise awareness for mental health

Greetings!

I am Wendy Dawn David, an engineer from the Philippines. I am starting a company that specializes in producing videos and creating apps to help our fellowmen. One of our proposed projects is meant to raise awareness for mental health as well as help people locate therapists in their area. Our apps also aim to help people find institutions and counselors that offer free or low-cost treatment options, especially since therapy sessions are very expensive in our country. The average rate is Php1,000 per hour ($USD20)

Here, in the Philippines, the importance of mental health is not yet widespread. Filipinos are very resilient. Being in a developing country, they are used to facing adversities that people in first-world countries typically don't experience. They still manage to smile in spite of extreme poverty, calamities, bullying, abuse, and other problems. Because of this, many Filipinos fail to recognize mental health issues. When family members and friends ask for help, their common response is to "just suck it up and move on".

Mental health, however, is just as important as physical health. Depression, addiction, and other mental health disorders can be debilitating. They can have severe implications on one's physical health, career, and even take a toll on their personal relationships.

Our company aims to help improve the mental wellness of our fellow Filipinos. Through your kindness and generosity, we hope to make this goal a reality.
