Campaign Story
Dear Friends,
We are GeoCatClub a non-governmental organization in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, protecting stray and feral cat population in need of help.
There are no official numbers of stray and feral cats in Tbilisi but certainly they are plenty of them. We rescue between ten and fifteen cats each month. Some are abandoned kittens or dumped cats that need a foster home. Many are injured or suffer from serious diseases. The cash strapped municipal animal shelter cannot provide them with expensive medical treatment.
Our contribution consists of temporary fostering for cats and kittens until their recovery at our modest shelter. We bring them to veterinary clinics for operations, vaccinations and sterilizations. We also support impoverished cat owners, mostly pensioners, by giving them food for the cats, which they cannot afford to feed themselves.
All these activities are being mainly funded by members and friend donations and charity events. Our work is completely voluntary.
Our most pressing current problem is how to raise the monthly 500 Georgian Lari (around 165 €) for the shelter´s rent
In order to carry out our activities effectively it would be great if we could secure the annual rent which is two thousand euros, so that we dont have to struggle every month to have a roof over the heads of our homeless cats. in addition administratively it is difficult to run the whole cat rescue program without having a fixed address
At present we are supported by an expert in organizational development, We plan to develop future financial sustainability by developing money generating stratagems so that funding can be put on an ongoing and sound footing.
Please, give generously, so that we can deliver help to our desparately in need friends the cats in 2019.
Thank you!
