Hi friends. This is my husband, Elison who has been battling cancer for 2 years.
We are married for 7 years already with 1 kid. It has been a wonderful life. We both have corporate jobs and we are building our dreams together to get our own house and to have more kids just like most families.
Until one day, came an unexpected turning point in our life. On January 2016, his doctor found out that he has Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
His doctor advised to have 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 30 sessions of radiation. He has to be on leave of absence and that left me with the responsibility to support his medical treatment and our family's financial needs. My husband won't let me shoulder all the expenses. After his first session of chemotherapy, he immediately seek for an online freelancing job to help with the expenses. My husband will have chemo in the morning for more than 8 hours and will still manage to get up and work at night. I had to resign from my corporate job and decided to work online so I can manage my time to look after him during chemo sessions, attend my son's school activities and work at the same time. We also seek help from the local government and PCSO. Since then, my husband has completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 30 sessions of Radiation treatment. After several laboratory exams, his doctor found out that there is an improvement. We are thankful that there is a development. Amidst the great results of his treatment, it doesn't change the fact that he still has this cancer and the only way to totally cure him from this disease is through a Bone Marrow Transplant.
Since we don't have enough money for the Bone Marrow Transplant, he tried taking herbal/natural supplements. However, these supplements only made his condition worse.
My husband is still in so much pain and he needs to continue with chemotherapy cycle until we can provide enough money for the procedure. He still needs to undergo another set of chemotherapy and that will cost 200, 000 pesos per session. He needs to continue chemotherapy until there's no more sign of cancer to be a candidate for Bone Marrow Transplant which will cost us 3-4 million pesos.
We are fortunate enough to have families and friends helping us both emotionally and financially. However, the bills are really mounting and my husband still needs continuous treatment. Our savings are already depleted and our salary is barely enough to keep up with our monthly bills. I would like to raise funds to give my husband the proper medical treatment he needs.
The cost of the treatment seems too much but it isn't, if only we can all pull together and help.
Our family is really blessed to have met friends who support us in this battle. I have set up this page to try and give my husband a fighting chance. Please share this site to your family and friends. We would be incredibly grateful for any support you are willing to give. The more people who know, the more people who will pray for him and support him. I know that we are not alone in this battle. I may not know you and you may not know me either, but God will be the one to reciprocate whatever help you may extend for him.
