Help Us Educate Poor Needy Children

The Instagram pages have led me to several new opportunities in life, one among them has been teaching Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya to develop their digital presence. On my commute to some of these gigs, I have been observing and have been approached by some children (I am creating this page on behalf of them) who often beg for food and sometimes money.

The Covid 19 pandemic really hit hard across the whole world but just like with most disasters, the poor and especially the children of the poor have been the hardest hit. My businesses on instagram depend on paid promotions and ever since the lockdowns began, I have gone through some dry spells. However I know what I am experiencing cannot match what these kids have been enduring for the past year. School was the only source of food and shelter for most of them and because their parents have lost their source livelihood and school timetables have been disrupted, they may remain in the same desperate situation as last year.

What this funding would mean

1. Getting the families a place to stay and setting up a simple business for their parents so that they may have a source of income.
2. Enabling the kids to go back to school with uniform and all the books they will need.
3. The success of this fundraiser will motivate me to pursue other similar campaigns.

Even though the government reopened schools, a big percentage of kids did not go back. There a many reasons but from what I seen in these children, covid disrupted their very existence. before their parents reorganize themselves enough to put them in school, the children will have lost at least four years of their lives! At that point, they will be totally robbed of their childhood and adding on to the fact that an election year is on the horizon (2022) there will still be many hurdles and obstacles to achieve their goals.

The fund will be used to pay for uniform, books, boarding and tuition fees for the children for the entire year. Some of the remaining amount will go towards paying for a decent place where the family can slowly regroup and build a home. I will also help the parents establish a simple business which they will then use to earn a living for the family going forward. This won’t solve everything (like medical care) and they’ll still face difficulties. But I believe it’s definitely much better than nothing and now the children will be able to get an education.
