VJC Kazoku Gamers consist of our daddy, Vincent Cheng, our mommy, Joanne Cheng, Victoria Cheng (9 years old - seated on the left), Valerie Cheng (8 years old - second from left) and Vanessa Cheng (6 years old - seated on mommy's lap on the right). VJC is the initial alphabet of our names; Kazoku is family in Japanese. We are a gaming family who play games on multiple platforms from mobile to PC to console games, both online and offline.

We believe that, we can learn a lot from playing games, it trains us to have quick thinking and reflexes while developing our problem-solving skills. We also learn about punctuality, strategies, management, creativity from playing games. In addition to the said characters, we also build endurance, perseverance, determination, diligence and discipline through games. Through games, we bond better as a family, learning and having fun together. We printed our own logo, t-shirt & bandana, too, which is our mascot is a Ninja Sheep, as we believe to be harmless as a Sheep and dove that brings peace, but wise as an owl and Ninja, which only uses wisdom and skills at the right time, to promote justice and righteousness.

Our parents taught us the value of hard work and leverage, so when combining both will yield a better result compared to just focus on hard work alone. Thus, we leverage technology we have today, to earn extra pocket money by selling second hand items online, to buy tools which can help us earn more like laptops and smartphones. We recently bought Nintendo Switch so we can join the Splatoon 2 tournament organized by the Splatoon Community Malaysia Facebook Group. Tournament details here: https://challonge.com/mdp2t42f/groups. The organizers of the tournament streamed one of our battles gameplay on Twitch, and we asked them for permission if we can upload the video on our YouTube Gaming Channel and they said yes, this is the link to the video https://gaming.youtube.com/watch?v=PXOCytiS1pc (the real battle starts at 10:00).

Splatoon 2 spark our interest in E-Sports and we hope to get involved in E-Sports with more games like Super Smash Bros etc. Currently, we stream about 3 hours a day, on various streaming platforms, playing mobile and PC games. We hope you can help us achieve our goal to raise enough funds, to purchase a Game Capture Card, so we can stream our gameplay from Nintendo Switch.

The Capture Card which we wish to buy for our console gaming streaming effortsis about USD 250 to USD 300 based on the current market price.

We also hope that parents will see ESports and live streaming as a way and means for the next generation Z like ourselves and beyond to earn a living as well as make it as a career, and we hope to remove the stigma of parents thinking that gamers are useless.

For example, my younger sisters will not normally focus, but once they are in games, they will focus so well in learning through the elements in the game (our parents carefully handpick the games to be family friendly and suitable for our age) like reflexes and control, as well as new word vocabulary, while building up character like diligence and determination in levelling up and achieving goals. This in turn makes them feel confident & have healthy self esteem through the sense of achievement and satisfaction in completing the game levels. This again, in turn, spills over to more meaningful and confidence when they perform home chores such as sorting the clothes, packing their own bags, and managing their own belongings as well being punctual in family activities and also work related activities in later years.

We are also on a mission to promote healthy gaming as a family as there are many benefits when family members play games together.

We are hoping to get the funding before the end of August 2018 so that we can start streaming with our Nintendo Switch and share more family friendly games and also to produce more content to our streaming platform accounts at Facebook, YouTube and Twitch (which we recently got invited to be a Twitch Affiliate).

We don’t know if we are able to raise enough to achieve our goal in this fundraising campaign, but at least we tried & learned something new, as our parents always encourage us to work at something and try and experience the journey, whether it is a success or a failure. We also believe that as long as we try, then, there is no failure, only feedback. With that feedback, we can improvise and try in a better way until success comes.

We thank you for your time for reading this, and we hope that in our own little way, through our sharing, hope that have added value to you and your family’s life.

Sincerely
Vicky, Valerie and Vanny from VJC Kazoku Gamers
