Children in Distress (CINDI) Network was founded in Pietermaritzburg in July 1996 and now has over 100 members, (NGO’s), Community Based Organisations (CBO’s) and individuals-who work together in the to promote the rights of orphaned and vulnerable children. Through its members, CINDI’s work affects more than 300,000 orphaned and vulnerable children with its smaller organizations (CBO’s) reaching more than 46,000 children alone.

CINDI works with 60 community based organizations in Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas. As an umbrella organization, CINDI is committed to mobilizing resources to make sure children receive the care and support they deserve.

Quality early childhood interventions have the greatest impact on children most at risk, offering an unparalleled opportunity to alleviate the effects of social disadvantage and to break cycles of poverty and inequality. Early childhood offers the greatest opportunities for positive human development, but is also the period when children are most at risk. Negative influences on a child’s development during early childhood can be irreversible.

The ECD centers lack resources such as: Sanitation facilities, educational materials, indoor and outdoor toys and appropriate storage units.

Please help us raise funds to buy Outdoor play equipment’s or Jungle Gyms to Masibumbane and Mamboza Creches.

Any help you could provide for this request would be appreciated.
