We are looking for funding to rebuild a delapidated nursery school, in KwaMthiyane, Durban, South Africa.
For as long as I can remember, growing up my mother has always helped look after children in the community, she has tirelessly and selflessly took in kids even when she, herself had seven children of her own and unemployed, but always found a way to assist those who were in need, working mothers that had nobody to look after their kids whilst at work, she was always willing to lend a helping hand so she eventually started a non-profit daycare where she looks after kids.
We currently have 70 kids, ranging from 6months to 4yrs, we have 3 permanent teachers and 1 cook, all in a small 2 room building that was built in 2009, it is falling apart , the windows are broken, doors falling apart, it is not a safe and conducive learning environment for the little ones. with the little that we have we are putting up a new structure which is prooving to be very expensive.
We have a big site to build a proper school with at least three classrooms, a kitchen and toilets, this donation will help a great deal in doing that.
Our community needs this, especially the parent that we are assisting in looking after their kids, who work low paying jobs and very long hour, they can at least have a peace of mind knowing that their kids are learning and growing in a safe and healthy environment.
