Her name is Lilian Adapon. I used to call her as my mother-in-law even though I'm not yet married to her son Paulo, father of my two children. She's better known as "Aling Glo" in our town. She has been a massage therapist since then, to help support her husband (Papa Julius) financially, to raise their children.

Last year of May, Papa rushed to the hospital due to heart attack, as he could no longer properly breathe. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival. Everyone was deeply saddened by the sudden loss of the pillar of the home. In the mid of September of the same year, we noticed few changes with Mama Glo. She's always pressing her breast and sometimes, she loses control of handling objects . But every time we ask her if she's in pain, she always answered "It's nothing, I'm fine". Until the worst thing happened one day, we noticed a slight grimaced of her lower lip, and she was having difficulty breathing. And due to the pandemic and travel restrictions, my partner and his siblings decided to take medications of their mother at home. They called a doctor closed to their family until they found out that she is suffering from hypertension. And by the mercy of God, she overcame it. In the other hand, she is slowly getting better.

As days go by, as we look forward to her immediate recovery, her situation become worst. One day, month of October, she is having trouble in breathing for the second time and rushed to the hospital as she suffered stroke. She went through some laboratory tests and advised by the doctor to continue medication at home for safety measures. She was given more medicines. That moment, she's already equipped with Nasogastric tube to feed her and to give her medicines because she could no longer be able to swallow and eat. Here it started to get worse that she could no longer sit, stand, walk and talk. As we were waiting for the laboratory tests results at home a few days ago, she was rushed again to the hospital. It was a life and death situation for her but she was bravely fighting as she wanted to live longer. It was discouraging because we cannot do anything at that time because there was no ICU available in all hospitals. It's hard to see a mother dying in front of you. But in a very good time, there at the last hospital that we went, had a patient to be discharge into the ICU. So we waited for the ICU to be thoroughly disinfected while she was still fighting and also while waiting for the swab test result. Thankfully, it was not related to COVID. And then she was finally admitted to ICU.

Everything goes well with the care of her doctors and nurses even without improvements of her ability, we are so grateful. What important to us is that she is alive. It's just unfortunate that she did not have any medical insurance and we did not have much but we did our best to save her. At first, we can afford to sustain her needs, expensive medicines, hygiene kits, etc., with the help of our relatives. But this recent challenge was quite burden to us financially in this difficult time. So we asked the doctor to continue their mother's medication at home. But it just so happened that she had to stay due to some infections such as Urinary Tract Infection that 's need to be treated. Her doctor wants her to make sure she's well before she goes home. Until the time came that she can be release from the hospital, everyone was shocked to see her hospital bill worth 1.5 Million Pesos but reduced to 1.1 Million Pesos due to her benefits from the government. Spending birthday, Christmas and New year with your mother at the hospital really brought sadness to our hearts and gives stress especially to their mother because she is not allowed to be released.

We still haven't raise enough money including help of our relatives. My partner's income is only enough for us with two kids, especially since we are also almost out of expenses because we just finished our eldest son's almost a year and a half of treatment last year of December. Since I am part of their family, even if I can't help financially, I want to do something to help my partner somehow alleviate what they are going through to ease the stress he suffers.

Help us bring our mother home. To all the people around the world, on behalf of my partner's family, we are desperately knocking to your big and kind hearts to fund, please help us defray Mama's hospital bill so that we can take her home as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for every donations. Small or big is much more appreciated. Godbless everyone. Mabuhay!
