Help us bring home our baby Aila

Baby Aila Mavis is a 710grams, 27-weeker baby born on October 25,2018 via emergency c-section due to severe pre-ecclampsia and fetal distress.

She went through a lot of battle in the neonatal intensive care unit at Metro San Jose Medical center in Batangas. She was doing well on her first 2 weeks of stay at NICU. However, because she is very premature, she has to undergo series of tests and procedures to ensure her safety.

Due to alpha thalassemia, her hemoglobin dropped lower than the normal range so she went through a surgery on her neck to find a good peripheral line where they could hook in the medicines, fluids and do the blood transfusion needed by our baby. Unfotunately the cut down didn't last long so they have to transfer it and make another femoral cut down. Truly heartbreaking to see our baby go through all this, but what choice do we have. We need to save her life.

Because of her long stay at NICU she also acquired infections. She has difficulty gaining wieght because her stomach enlarges after feeding. After 1 month and 2 weeks at NICU, she weighs 825grams. The doctor said that before we can go home baby Aila should weigh at least 1.5kg and it will be very hard for her to gain such weight because of her stomach condition.

On Christmas day, it will be her 2nd month birthday. For almost 2 months our bill already reached almost 600,000 and will still increase as she stay longer in NICU. Despite the hardwork, we cannot afford this kind of amount. We are asking for your kindness to share and donate to help bring baby Aila home and be with us soon.
