We are just an ordinary couple trying very hard to get onto the property ladder before our time runs out. My partner is 50 and has worked for 14 years to put himself through college. He continues to work extremely hard but is yet to find gainful employment in his field of nutrition. Unfortunately this means he continues to wait tables, but does not always make the money we need to pay for our simple dream house..... a manufactured home to place on our little slice of heaven, a beautiful treed acre we bought in California. And as everyone knows California is a very expensive place to build a home. One of our issues is that my partner had to take out a small student loan just to survive the expenses of college. This doesn't help us with the house.... and trying to get house and debt clear before retirement. So what about me, and what I am doing to contribute to our dream? I came to the United States to be with the this amazing man. I gave up everything in my home country, and it is not easy to find employment here. Well maybe not as easy as I thought and hoped. I have saved half of what I earned for most of my life, and that meant I had saved enough to buy the land, and put in the services, but that last step, affording the manufactured home is just out of reach. I know there are so many people deserving of your help and support, and we are so privileged in so many ways, we are happy, we have love, we can support ourselves. However, you never know unless you ask, and so I am asking. I would so love to be able to finalize my real dream of giving my partner a home. I wonder if there is anyone out there who wants to just give us a helping hand up? The opportunity to secure our future, and to have the joy of our own home? What can we offer in return? We can offer to pass it on one day. We can offer to find someone else who needs our support one day and offer the same. We can offer you a place to stay if ever you come to our small neck of the woods. We can offer to tell you our story and let you into our lives. We can offer to cook you an amazing meal (well my nutrition major husband will cook, I will do the dishes which is about as much use as I am in the kitchen!) This is clearly a long shot for us, but it is so hard to try each day, but not be able to quite reach your goals. We are motivated and committed to our futur e, and we know that with perseverance we will get there, but hey, a little help would be great! We are hoping that someone out there who has been blessed by life might find it in their hearts to bless us. Anything helps.
