My name is James. I am appealing to you for help.

My Story

My wife is a Canadian citizen in Canada and I am in South Africa. We both want to be in Canada. Apart from my wife, I have no family that I can turn to for help because my whole family (10 people) died in a single train accident in 1991. That is why I am appealing to you for help.

I must go to Canada to be with my wife and for that I need R50,000 (Fifty thousand rand) the breakdown of which is:

- Visa = R 3,500 This includes biometrics, courier fees and transport to and from Pretoria, two nights stay at a shelter and food for the duration of the stay in Pretoria so that I can give my biometrics to the Canadian High Commission.

- Return Airfare (A must, because I am not a Canadian citizen.) Economy class = R15,000.

- Meals (During long layovers) = R200An -

-Apartment in Canada: CA$ 2,800 (about R30,000) rental at about CA$ 900 per month = 3 months rent.

I work as a driver in the Port Elizabeth harbour at R23 an hour. I am not assured of shifts as there are more drivers than available work. I cannot be appointed permanently because I am 62. Also, I am a SASSA pensioner. From a pension of R1,780 per month and my salary of R1,900 per month (sometimes it is only R900 per month) I might have R500 left over for the month to live on. So, it is going to take me forever to save the money to go. That is another reason I am asking for your help.

My monthly expenses are: - Rent: R1,250 per month; - Transport: (To work, the clinic and sometimes to church) between R700 and R800 per month; - Savings: The balance, however much that is. It can be anything from R100 to R150 per month. Sometimes I don't save for 3, 4 months because of unforeseen expenses.

My wife suffers from depression and cannot work, so she cannot help me. At the moment, my savings balance is R0,00 as at the end of January 2020, I sent my wife $125 for her living expenses. Her family in Canada are not an understanding people and they resent any help they give my wife.

Therefore, I am appealing to the people of South Africa to donate between R1,00 and R5,00 towards my expenses please.

In return, I will be keeping everyone who donates money to my cause, updated with a public shout out on social media. Also, I will donate everything over R50,000 to a charity nominated by you, the public.

Any donations an be paid to my PayPal account:
