Tomcat is a gentle giant. Though quiet and aloof, he is always looking out for his fellow stray cats that my husband and I feed on a regular basis. One day, Tomcat disappeared and the clowder was left with no alpha. That was until we heard a crying cat right in front of our doorstep in the middle of the night—it was Tomcat but he didn’t look as strong as he used to. He was lying on the ground and we smelled some sort of putrid scent from his messy fur. To our surprise, he had this big wound with green puss coming out of it.

We rushed him to the vet and learned that he had a necrotic wound the size of a man’s palm. The vets needed to peel his skin off in order to treat it. We’ve never seen Tomcat in such a weakened state.

After months in the clinic, the vets have come to love Tomcat and have even remarked that he is the sweetest cat they’ve ever cared for. Recently, we had high hopes that Tomcat would be healthy enough to take him out of the vet, thinking that he was finally okay but the doctor said that the wound got infected and he needed to stay for a few more months. It was July when poor Tomcat cried on our doorstep with a festering wound on his back...the bills are piling up.

That is why we would like to reach out to the cat-loving people out there who can spare any amount for the treatment of our dear Tomcat.

He is currently confined in Vetline Clinic (Friendship Highway, Angeles City Pampanga Philippines). Your kindness is highly appreciated.

Tomcat is improving

Update posted by Nori Rose Diwa at 06:52 am

As of today, Tomcat is still in the vet. No more infection but still has an open wound the size of a golf ball. We are hoping that in a months time it will heal up and then we can find Tomcat a loving family to be his forever home.
