(Real quick: My name is Lynette du Plessis and I'm a good friend of Thomas Shepherd here in South Africa. I have his begrudging consent to do this crowdfunding campaign and all your donations are going directly into his account. Please read on for more info.)

I met Thomas in 2012 and it was love at first sight, knowing straight away that God answered my prayers as a child. Over the years our bond and continuous support and love for one another was prospering by the second. Thomas was abandoned at an early age of 7 by his mother and spent his entire child hood in children's home up to the age of 16, upon his mother’s return he went back to live with his mother, over the years he was the one providing for his family at an early age of 16, baking and making things and selling door to door to buy the essential day to day needs to survive. Thomas has such a good soul always putting every one else first no matter what. I truly be leave that with a little bit of support he can achieve his dream by opening his own work shop.

When I met Thomas in 2012 I soon learnt despite the tuff child hood that he was brought up in, he never used this as an excuse, but rather turned it into a positive mission to always do better and help others in need, being supportive no matter what the circumstances, he has always been there for every one ells with never expecting anything back and always being positive and sharing a positive attitude.

In the year 2014 we were blessed with getting pregnant, however soon after receiving the good news I experienced spotting and unfortunately had a mischarge. Doctors recommended that we keep trying and not to long after we were blessed with being pregnant once again. During my pregnancy as time went by I received a call that Thomas was in a motor bike accident, after numerous visits at the doctors and specialists and being by his side throughout this period, we soon learned that we needed to start selling our positions to pay medical bills. Throughout this period we started to hit a down world spiral and ended up losing everything that we worked so hard to build up, we lost our home due to lack of affordability for rent.

During the duration of all of this happening Thomas received the news that he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer also known as Colon cancer, unfortunately not having Medical Aid and our funds running out the only thing we were left with was to use the leads received by family.

We were put in contact with a professor to help with the cannabisoil treatment for Thomas's cancer taking into consideration that he was only given 4 months to live, we started with the treatment straight away, unfortunately due to the seriousness of his cancer he was too weak to perform his daily duties at work and was asked to use the time he has left to get better and to spend it with his family at this stage I was pregnant and the only bread winner.

By the end of November 2014 Thomas was starting to show extremely good progress in fighting his cancer and we gave birth to a heathy baby boy called Liam, Unfortunately by now we have lost about everything and was looking after a friend’s house that had no electricity, I have also lost my Job and we were facing a very difficult time, Luckily we stood up and fight this battlewith the determination to sand up again, and stay positive. What kept me going was my motto " we will be okay, we were not put on earth to suffer, and this was just a learning curve to get stronger and to prepare us for something greater" Thomas is clear from cancer and is still with us being amazing as always and thank full to be a part of our lives.

Thomas started working for a company and me as well, however due to the pandemic my employer closed his company leaving all of his employees without an income refusing to apply for our TERS funds. Thomas was blessed being still employed however his salary is not enough to cover our expense.

Currently we have once again scaled down to the extreme trying to prevent from losing everything once again that we worked so hard to build up for a second time, we are once again busy losing everything fast due to the lack of income, every day we are trying to survive trying to at least have the essential things we need to get through every day. Please we really need help.

Thomas is extremely clever and passionate and determent to be able to start his own company and make a success out of it, he just really needs help with funds, he has a complete business plan set up but due to his cancer and falling behind in payments in this period we were blacklisted and this has left us not being able to get a business loan or any other loan to get started.

Thomas really needs an opportunity to for fill his dreams of opening his own workshop having the knowledge of building up high performance vehiclesand upgrading and building and reselling of them. He also has interested client base that is looking for someone to do powder coating for them with a fleet of 110 trucks etc. Thomas urgently needs the work space and supplies to get started.

Please can we ask that we stand together and help Thomas start up his own company I really do believe that he deserves to achieve his dreams and achieve success at last.

Warm Regards

Lynn
