This is a campaign for my best friend Edith - she's a 30-year old woman from Estonia fighting with life-threatening Clostridium Difficile bacteria (infection of the intestines), with underlying diagnose of Crohn's disease. What started as a simple antibiotics treatment for cystitis, ended up with C.Diff infection, which keeps coming back. For now she have been on antibiotics back and forth for months. She has lost a lot of weight and muscle mass (she weighs only 44 kg while being 171 cm tall), and this has weakened her immune system to the point that she fights besides C.Diff with yeast infections, chronical UTIs and and severe pains. She has depleted her options to cure this disease with antibiotics (Metronidazole and Vancomycin), cause the side effects of a long antibiotics usage are growing worse every day. The best option for her is a fecal transplant (which has the highest cure rate against C.Difficile). Unfortunately this treatment is not available in Estonia - so in order to beat this she has to seek medical help in Finland, Sweden or UK.
By now she's unable to work and is confined to bed for the most of the time. It's painful to see how she's losing her hope for her healthy future. After visiting many doctors, nobody has proposed her a holistic plan for healing.
About C. Difficile:
"The average human digestive tract is home to as many as 1,000 species of microorganisms. Most of them are harmless - or even helpful - under normal circumstances. But when something upsets the balance of these organisms in your gut, otherwise harmless bacteria can grow out of control and make you sick. One of the worst offenders is a bacterium called Clostridium difficile (C. difficile, or C. diff). As the bacteria overgrow they release toxins that attack the lining of the intestines, causing a condition called Clostridium difficile colitis. C. difficile infection can range from mild to life-threatening." - Web MD
I appreciate every donation no matter how small - even 1 EUR is helping! Special love to those who can provide monthly donation!
Your effort goes for paying the visits of special doctors, medical expenses and the actual procedure.
